Shamrock Scurry Volunteers

Volunteer at the Shamrock Scurry! Check out all the places you can plug in below, and register where you fit best. All volunteers will park off-campus and shuttle to Killearn, so plan accordingly.
If you choose to sign up for more than one area, or to run one of the races, be sure you are not choosing roles with overlapping times. Roles that cannot be filled by runners are notated below.


Awards

• Reports at 7 AM.
• Set up and organize the awards that are handed out after the race.

Cheer Team

• Reports at 7:30 AM.
• Cheer and encourage runners at the start and finish lines.
• You cannot be a registered runner.

Pointers and Encouragers

• Report at 7:15 AM for the 1 Mile, or 7:30 AM for the 5K.
• Point runners in the appropriate direction along the race route.
• Cheer runners on as they pass - your encouraging words mean a lot, especially going uphill!
• You cannot be a registered runner.

Campus Set Up and Tear Down

• Choose a day and time to help: Friday at 4:30 PM, or Race Day at 5 AM or 10 AM.
• Help set up the church campus -or- tear down after the race.
• If you serve at 5 AM, you cannot be a registered runner.

Finish Line

• Reports at 7:30 AM.

Parking

• Reports at 6:30 AM.
• Help direct parking in the Killearn parking lots and general area.
• You must stay for both races.
• You cannot be a registered runner.

Hospitality

• Reports at 7:15 AM
• Familiarize yourself with key locations on campus. 
• Welcome runners and visitors, answer questions and direct them to various locations. Make them feel welcome!
• You cannot bet a registered runner.

Food Donations

• Choose items to purchase in advance and drop off at the church prior to Race Day.

Finish Line Water Station

• Choose a day to help: Friday at 3 PM or Race Day at 7:15 AM.
• Friday volunteers will prepare bananas for use at the Finish Line Water Station.
• Race Day volunteers provide water, Gatorade and fruit at the finish line. Volunteers will keep cups filled and replenish fruit as needed.

Race Route

• Reports at 6 AM.
• Help set up the race route.
• You must stay for both races. 
• You cannot be a registered runner.

Registration

• Choose a day and time to help: Packet Pickup Days are Thursday 3:45-7 PM, Friday 10:45 AM-2 PM, or serve on Race Day at 6:45 AM. We need help with Packet Prep from 1-4 PM on Thursday.
• Race Day volunteers must stay for both races.
• Race Day volunteers cannot be registered runners.

Race Route Water Stop Attendants

• Reports at 7 AM.
• Help set up water stop along the race route.
• Wear gloves and hold water cups with outstretched arms, calling out to the racers as they approach.
• Refill coolers when needed.
• Clean up water station at the end of the race.

Transportation/Nurse/Bike

• Serve as a shuttle driver, nurse, or biker.
• Report times vary.

Video/Photography

• Serve as a photographer or videographer.
• Report times vary.

Volunteer Sign-In Table

• Report at 6:45 AM.
• Help sign in volunteers and hand out name tags.

Kitchen Clean Up

• Report at 9 AM.
• Wash dishes, provide general help with kitchen cleaning.
• Clean tables in the Fellowship Hall.
